Doc Baynes will deliver lecture about Great Chain

The Putnam History Museum will hold its annual meeting on Saturday, March 24, at 4 p.m., followed by a lecture by Doc Baynes called “The Chain That Saved the Colonies.”

To stop the British invasion of the New England colonies during the American Revolution, Peter Townsend made a Great Chain for the Continental Army at Sterling Forest. It was placed across the Hudson River at West Point.
