Able to accept donations from public
The Putnam County Historic Cemetery Committee, which for the past 21 years has worked to restore and maintain burial grounds, has reorganized as the nonprofit Society for the Preservation of Historical Cemeteries.
Society members met on May 24 at Philipstown Town Hall and selected a board of directors, which includes Dr. Larry Maxwell of Patterson and Alan Warnacke of Mahopac, who founded the committee; Catherine Wargas, Priscilla Keresey, Mike Troy, Elaine Otto and Michael Leonard, who is a member of the Philipstown Town Board.
