Christine and Jerome Rubino of Cold Spring announced the engagement of their daughter, Lily Marie Rubino, to Robert James Vigar, son of Sharon Guthrie and Richard Vigar of Portsmouth, England.

Lily, who graduated from Haldane High School in 2008, works in Manhattan for WaterAid, a nonprofit that helps communities around the world gain access to water, sanitation and hygiene. Robert is a doctoral candidate in anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on the archaeology of ancient Egypt.
The couple met in England in 2014 while working toward master’s degrees at University College London. They plan to wed in September 2019 at the Chapel Restoration in Cold Spring, where Lily’s parents were married 32 years ago.
