About 200 students and adults gathered in Cold Spring on the St. Mary’s lawn at the corner of Main and Chestnut streets on Sept. 20 as part of a global strike to demand more action to slow climate change. The effort was organized by Fridays for Future, a movement founded by a Swedish teenager, Greta Thunberg, who that same day attended a rally in New York City.

  1. Thank you Russ for these fine images of our recent climate action event. It was a fabulously exciting time, there in our little town, and it’s too bad the photos can’t be accompanied with all the music, the chants, the voices, the roar of the crowd that made this such an empowering moment for all who attended. Thank you, Krystal Ford, for organizing this. And thank you kids and students from the area whose voices were so powerful, so passionate, and so inspiring!
