Putnam Creates Office for Disabilities

Full-time position added to social services

The Putnam County Legislature on May 2 voted unanimously to create an Office of Individuals with Disabilities within the Department of Social Services and Mental Health with a full-time coordinator.

The position was created by eliminating two funded but vacant part-time positions at the agency, the county said. The coordinator will be responsible for helping connect residents and their families with services and serve as a liaison with advocacy groups.
