Knights in shining armor challenged their opponents on Aug. 31 at the 47th Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo — a quick jaunt southwest of the Highlands. Riding horses at full gallop, the knights joust by attempting to shatter each other’s wooden shields. The festival, which continues weekends through Oct. 6, has fairies, falcons, contortionists, glassblowers, living chess pieces, sorcery and costume contests.
