Mark Munoz (1961-2025)

Mark Raymond Munoz, 64, of Beacon, died March 18.

He was born Feb. 14, 1961, in Boston, the son of James and Mary Ruth (Hoyt) Munoz. He was a lifelong resident of Beacon.

Mark worked as a general contractor specializing in small-home renovations, roofing and other carpentry work. He was always joking and having a good time, his family said, and his enthusiasm was contagious. He was known for his warmth, kindness and deep connection to family and friends.

He is survived by his partner, Kathy Anderson, and his siblings: Stephen Munoz, Neil Munoz (Annie), Jeanne Munoz and Susan Ramos.

Family and friends will gather on Sunday (March 23) from 1 to 4 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman St., in Beacon. A service will follow at 4 p.m.

Carolin Serino (1953-2025)

Carolin Serino, 71, of Fishkill and formerly of Beacon, died March 18 in New York City following surgery to repair a brain aneurysm.

She was born on July 24, 1953, in Kingston, the daughter of Franklin and Madeline (Murphy) Clum. Carolin graduated from Saugerties High School, where during her junior and senior years she was part of a work-study program at Beneficial Finance, which led to her first career as manager of banks in Kingston and Beacon. Carolin went on to have a career at Boscobel House and Gardens in Garrison, where she served as business manager and for some time as acting director.

Carolin was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Beacon and the Beacon Housing Authority and sat on the board of her homeowners’ association at Regency Fishkill. She also served on the board of Locust Grove Estate and volunteered for hospice.

Carolin enjoyed a full life with many adventures, her family said. Two favorites were going to the theater in New York City and traveling. She traveled the world with her late husband of 34 years, Carmine Serino Jr., Carmine and her partner, David Winograd, and visited every U.S. state, all seven continents and countless countries. “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list!,” she said.

Along with her father and her partner David, she is survived by David’s children: Jessica Winograd (Ben Fried), Eli Winograd (Lark Kidder) and Rachel Winograd (Frank O’Leary); his grandchild, Igor Winograd; her stepchildren Steven Serino, Nancy Longenberger and Rena Serino (Robert); and her grandchildren, Taylor Longenberger (Lauren Ronge), Hunter Pedian (Robert), Brandon Longenberger (Amanda Markley) and Mason Longenberger.

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Avery, Isla and Hazel Longenberger, and her sister Christine Updyke (John); her in-laws, Mary Williams, Claire Serino and Fred Seither (Pam) and her “sister/cousin” Paula O’Bryon Kordich.

Carolin donated her corneas and would ask that everyone consider becoming an organ/tissue donor. Memorial donations may be be made to the Regional Food Bank Northeastern (regionalfoodbank.net).
