Service Tuesday at St. Mary’s

Robert W. Bartley, age 60, of Cold Spring, N.Y., died peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at his residence. Born in Newburgh, N.Y., on September 27, 1953, he was the son of the late James T. and Vesta Lee (Wadsworth) Bartley.

Mr. Bartley was an accountant with Carol A. Powell, CPA in Cold Spring and member of St. Mary-in-the-Highlands Episcopal Church, Cold Spring. He moved to Cold Spring in 1969 and graduated from Haldane High School in 1972. After living in Prescott, Ariz., and San Diego, Calif., he lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, for 25 years before returning to Cold Spring in 2004.

Survivors include his companion and the love of his life, Carol A. Powell of Cold Spring, and her two sons, Michael and David Powell; one daughter, Jessica Baker Flores of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, John and Charles Bartley of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and two adoring grandchildren, Megan and Michael Powell.

Pre-deceasing him was a brother James Bartley Jr. in 1975.

A Requiem Mass will take place at St. Mary-in-the-Highlands Episcopal Church, One Chestnut Street, Cold Spring, N.Y., at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014. The Rev. Shane Scott-Hamblen will officiate. Private cremation will follow.

Friends may call at the Clinton Funeral Home, corner of Parrott and Pine St. (21 Parrott St.), Cold Spring, N.Y., on Monday, March 17, from 5 to 8 p.m.
