More than 70 Labrador Retrievers from the Yorktown Heights-based Guiding Eyes for the Blind took to the sidewalks of Cold Spring on June 21 for a training session. It takes about six months to prepare each dog, said Training Supervisor Shannon Walsh.

Michael Turton has been a reporter with The Current since its founding, after working in the same capacity at the Putnam County News & Recorder.   1. Incredibly devoted trainers doing an incredible service. Cold Spring is lucky that our quaint village streets and stoops meet the mandate for training these wonderful animals.
