Charged with rape and sexual abuse

New York State Police troopers on Oct. 18 arrested a Brewster teenager on charges of felony rape and sexual abuse. The 16-year-old was arraigned in Putnam County Family Court and remanded to a juvenile detention facility.

According to Brewster school officials, the sexual assault of a child was posted to Snapchat and a Brewster High School student was allegedly involved. Police said that anyone who distributed the video could also be guilty of a crime.
