Arthur R. Zeitler, 85, died July 25 at Taconic Rehabilitation & Nursing in Beacon.

He was born Nov. 11, 1938, in Manhattan, the son of Arthur Zeitler and Elizabeth Bender from Almaskamaras, Hungary. After graduating from Beacon High School, he was employed by County Airport Corp. in Westchester County until 1968 and Sabena Airlines at JFK International Airport until 1982 before becoming a painting contractor.

In 1984, he married Rosalie Barber, who survives him. He is also survived by his children, Keith Zeitler (Maureen) of Florida, Scott Zeitler (Darlene) of North Carolina and Lynette Mazzuca (Nick) of North Carolina; and his stepchildren, Gregg Barber (Cheryl) of Wappingers Falls and Blake Barber of Elmira. 

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Natalie Tibbs (Holden), Carly Zeitler, Meghan Wood (Mark), Renata Zeitler, Samantha Duryea (Scott), Courtney, Jamie and Halee Mazzuca, Robert, Sarah, Anna, Madison, Zach and Cassandra Barber, and Guyanne Simmons; numerous great-grandchildren; and his brother, Fred Zeitler (Joyce) and their children, Peter, Christopher, Michael and Joseph Zeitler.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held July 31 at St. John the Evangelist in Beacon, followed by interment at St. Joachim Cemetery.
