Voter registration deadline is Oct. 12

With important national, state and local races coming up for decision on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, residents who are U.S. citizens 18 years of age or older should make sure they are registered to vote before the deadline (25 days before Election Day) of Oct. 12.

To check to see whether and where you are registered to vote, visit the state website (www.elections.ny.gov) or county site (putnamcountyny.com). New York State Voter Registration Forms are available at the websites as well as at the office of the Putnam County Board of Elections at 25 Old Route 6 in Carmel or at local government offices, libraries, the post office and motor vehicle office. The form may also be used to inform the Board of Elections of a name and/or address change.
