Harmful chemicals may be present
On Tuesday, Jan. 15, the office of Philipstown.info was notified that someone had placed mothballs and cayenne pepper around the parking lot of 117 Main St. (which houses Archipelago and The Country Goose) in Cold Spring, in order to deter some stray cats. It was reported that other deterrents may also have been used, such as ground glass and a poisonous substance like antifreeze.
The person who reported this wanted to alert residents in the area to keep their pets away from the parking lot, as there could be harmful objects or substances there.
