Items being collected at Beacon City Hall

State Sen. Bill Larkin of the 39th District and William Kaplan, founder and president of the Newburgh Armory Unity Center, have arranged for a truck to transport relief supplies to Puerto Rico. Donations can be dropped at Beacon City Hall from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, or from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Unity Center, 321 S. William St., Newburgh.

The most needed items are bottled water, baby wipes, diapers, hand sanitizer, canned and dry food for humans and pets, cots, first aid kits, mosquito repellent, soap, blankets, pillows, laundry detergent, dish soap and tarps.
