
Donna Guck (1951-2024)
Donna Lee Guck, 72, a longtime Beacon resident and most recently of Deltona, Florida, died April 23.
She was born in Beacon on Oct. 9, 1951, the daughter of Frank Abbott and Helen Thomas. On Jan. 25, 1969, at St. Joachim Church in Beacon, she married Walter Guck. They were married 19 years before his death.
Donna worked for 30 years as a bus driver for the Beacon City School District and the Wappinger Central School District, until her retirement.
She is survived by her children, Brian, Walter (“Sonny”) and Kimberly; her grandchildren, Mary and Nicholas; and her great-granddaughter, Chloe.
Her family will gather to remember her life on Tuesday (June 4) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Libby Funeral Home, 55 Teller Ave., in Beacon, where a prayer service will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private at St. Joachim Cemetery.

Charles Secore (1929-2024)
Charles B. Secore, 94, a longtime Beacon resident and most recently of Wappingers Falls, died May 27 at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.
He was born in Beacon on Nov. 14, 1929, the son of Charles and Bertha (Rogers) Secore. On July 26, 1952, at the First Presbyterian Church in Poughkeepsie, he wed Jane Edgar. They were married for 62 years before her death.
Charles served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He worked as a pressman at the Nabisco plant in Beacon and later as a foreman at the Federal Paper Board until his retirement. He also worked part-time for the Village of Fishkill Police and for the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy.
Charles enjoyed hunting, camping and being at his cabin. He was an avid reader and loved being around his family.
He is survived by his children, Glenn Secore (Rebecca) and Cynthia Yalanis (Phillip); his grandchildren, Phillip Yalanis Jr., Danielle Brooks, Lauren Secore and Andrew Secore; and a great-granddaughter, Kara Yalanis. His son, Christopher Secore, died earlier.
