The Haldane Central School District played host (March 5) to this year’s Putnam County Music Educators Association  (PCMEA) All-County Music Festival. The All-County, as it’s known, is made up of elementary school musicians from throughout Putnam who have been recommended to participate. While students rehearse at their respective schools, the program comes together only a day before the performance with intensive rehearsals for both the band and chorus under the guidance of a PCMEA selected conductor. This year’s conductors were Dr. Domenic Guastaferro and Edward Wojtowicz.

The Elementary All County Festival, which was held on March 5, was not a rescheduled event. This was the date set for the festival which brought 5th and 6th grade students from schools throughout Putnam County to make music together. The Middle School All County Festival, which was scheduled for February 5 and for 7th and 8th grade students, was actually cancelled due to a snow storm. There was no rescheduled date for the Middle School festival.
