Will assess distribution improvments

To prepare for the upcoming water main relining project on Main Street, the Cold Spring Water Department and project engineer Ron Gainer will conduct flow and pressure testing in several village areas on Friday (March 30) between 7 a.m. and 12 noon. To assess improvements in the distribution system, test results will be compared to those taken after the water mains are cleaned and re-lined. “It is possible the testing will cause temporary pressure drops and slight discoloration of water, but these should be minimized due to the hydrant flush which just finished this morning,” stated Greg Phillips, water superintendent. If residents notice any discoloration, he advised them to run their cold water tap until clear.
