On the evening of Thursday, Nov. 8, parents of students in grades K-3 were treated to a fall concert at Garrison Union Free School. The theme of the concert was “A Gratitude Attitude,” which Principal Stephanie Impellittiere introduced as an important way of teaching children empathy as well as celebrating the upcoming holiday of Thanksgiving.
Grade-level classes performed songs about autumn, Thanksgiving turkeys, and gratitude onstage in the school gym, then came together at the end to sing a song together. The students were directed by music teacher Karen Bresnan and accompanied by Art Labriola on the keyboard.
