New York State Police arrested a Beacon man on Feb. 25 in connection with an apparent robbery and shooting in Hopewell Junction.

Sean Peterson, 28, was charged with felony robbery after a man was discovered in a car in the parking lot of the Acme supermarket at about 2:35 p.m. with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in stable condition.

Peterson and Devin Byers, 30, of Youngstown, Ohio, were stopped nearby by a Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office deputy, who reported finding a large quantity of marijuana and a semi-automatic handgun in their vehicle.

Byers was charged with robbery, criminal use of a firearm criminal possession of a firearm, and possession of marijuana. The men were arraigned in East Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $75,000 cash bail or $150,000 bond.
