Audubon Society accepting applications
The Putnam Highlands Audubon Society is accepting applications for its annual scholarship named to honor Marty McGuire, who became a board member at age 15 and for five years compiled the Putnam Christmas Bird Count.
The scholarship is typically $1,500 to $2,500 and is open to high school seniors from Beacon, Philipstown, Fishkill and Putnam Valley, among other locales. See putnamhighlandsaudubon.org. The deadline is March 15.
