Budget also passes for 2024-25

Four candidates were elected to the nine-member Howland Library board in Beacon on April 25, and its 2024 budget of $1.43 million passed by a 166-19 margin.

Incumbent Elizabeth Murphy and newcomer Emily Murnane were each elected to five-year terms. Helen Lowery was elected to fill the remaining two years of a vacated term and David Lemon will complete the final year of another term. Richard McGowan was not elected.
