Dutchess Legislature will consider selection

Kathy McQuade is slated to be the next director of the Office of Probation and Community Corrections, succeeding Mary Ellen Still, who retired in March after 46 years with the agency.
The Dutchess Legislature is expected on Thursday (May 9) to confirm the recommendation of County Executive Sue Serino to appoint McQuade, who serves as probation supervisor. She was hired in 1997 as a probation officer and in 2018 was promoted to her current role.
The probation office supervises about 3,000 defendants and probationers placed on community supervision by the courts. McQuade lives in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
