Legislature must approve choice

Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne on Thursday (June 6) announced the appointment of Tara Keegan as director of tourism. She succeeds Tracey Walsh, who retired after five years in the position.

Keegan, who is the interim director of tourism, previously worked at a law firm and for the state Assembly and is a volunteer for the Northern Westchester-Putnam St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee and the Emerald Association of Putnam County. Her appointment must be confirmed by the county Legislature.
