GREEN EDUCATOR — Rachel Arbor, the director of environmental education at the Garrison School, on Aug. 1 was one of nine teachers from around the country to receive a Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators from the Environmental Protection Agency. She is shown in Washington, D.C., with Mark Rupp, an EPA administrator, and Brenda Mallory, chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality. “If a teacher’s role is to prepare students for the real world, shouldn’t we be helping them solve the climate crisis together?” Arbor said.
