Will be sentenced in January for two felonies

A Beacon man who pleaded guilty on Wednesday (Nov. 13) to felony attempted assault will be sentenced on Jan. 22.

Rakim Paulin also pleaded guilty to felony criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Prosecutors said the assault occurred on Aug. 20 in the City of Poughkeepsie when Paulin intentionally struck someone with his vehicle. Paulin then exited his car to beat the victim on the ground. The narcotics charge stemmed from Paulin’s arrest on July 31 at a gas station on Route 82 in the Town of Wappinger.
