Martha A. Mallory, 56, died June 21.

She was born June 25, 1968, in Brooklyn, the daughter of Willie Braun and Rita Alicia. She was a stay-at-home mother to a large family, including Maya Lomax, Alura Lomax, Isaac Lomax, Porscha Braun, Romeo Braun, Donnavan Braun, Ikea Ewing, Justin Ewing and Moses King.

Martha enjoyed spending time with family, singing and dancing and arts and crafts. Services will be private.

Mary Ann Weitz (1939-2025)

Mary Ann Weitz, 86, a former longtime resident of Beacon, died June 24 with her daughters by her side.

She was born in Beacon on March 5, 1939, the daughter of John and Josephine (Librio) Pietragalla. After graduating from Beacon High School, she attended the Krissler Business Institute and worked as an administrative assistant for several companies and the North Carolina Department of Transportation until her retirement.

She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters, Court Liberata and the Beacon Historical Society. She loved doing crafts and reading and being with her family.

Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Susan Weitz and George-Ann Weitz Sauer; her former son-in-law, David Sauer; and her nephews, John DeAngelis and Mario DeAngelis (Betsy). Her daughter, Mary Ann Weitz; her grandson, Michael Sauer; and her sister, Lucy DeAngelis, died earlier.

A graveside service will be held at St. Joachim Cemetery in Beacon. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
