March 23 event at McConville Park well attended

Approximately 100 children, ages 8 and under, participated in the 10th Annual Easter Egg Hunt held by the Knights of Columbus on March 23 at McConville Park in Cold Spring. The children collected over 1,700 candy-filled eggs.

There were 70 prizes given out to the children in all age categories who found the coveted golden eggs. Along with the Knights, the Cold Spring Merchants Association, the Village Scoop, Cup-o-ccino Café, Go-Go Pops, Cold Spring Pizza and Carnival Ice Cream in Fishkill donated prizes that helped to make this event even more special.

Dan Dillon, co-chairman with Bob Flaherty, thanked not only the merchants but also Giana Grandetti, a member of the Teens Rocking Out to Catholicism (TROC), who played the part of the Easter Bunny and along with other members filled the eggs with candy.

Those attending also were treated to music by Fred Clarke, a member of the Knights who acted as the DJ. The Knights also provided free hot dogs, coffee and hot chocolate.
