Middle-school film club continues at Howland

The Reel Life Film Club, a series for middle school students, continues at the Howland Public Library in Beacon at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, with a screening of the 2010 documentary To Be Heard.

The film follows teens in the South Bronx who begin writing poetry as a life-changing experience. One of the directors, Amy Sultan, will take questions after the screening, and pizza will be served. The series is a joint program of the Butterfield, Desmond-Fish and Howland libraries.
