School taxes due by Oct. 31Â
Susan Huetter, collector of taxes for the Garrison Union Free School District, (GUFS) has announced that she has received the tax roll and warrant for the collection of taxes. School taxes may be paid in person at the M&T Bank branch located at 40 Chestnut Street, Cold Spring, or by mail to: Garrison Union Free School District, P.O. Box 1163, Buffalo, N.Y., 14240.
      Taxes may be paid on or before Sept.30 without penalty. Taxes received between Oct. 1 – 31, 2011 will be subject to a 2 percent penalty. No taxes will be received after Oct. 31. Unpaid school taxes will be re-levied with town and county taxes in January 2012, with an increased interest rate.
