Haldane Student Selected by NYSSMA

Elizabeth Richter

Haldane senior Elizabeth Richter was invited to participate in Area-All-State (sponsored by the New York State School Music association) that included top scoring music students in Putnam and Dutchess counties. Richter also qualified for a spot in the NYSSMA All-State Mixed Chorus. This will include three days of intense rehearsals that will culminate in the closing concert at the Eastman School of Music Concert Hall. Richter has been participating in NYSSMA solo festivals for seven years, preparing solos on piano, trombone and voice.

Every spring, thousands of musically talented sophomores and juniors throughout New York State prepare vocal and instrumental solos for trained adjudicators. The highest scores and recommendations reward students with acceptance to one of eight honors music ensembles. Selected students had the opportunity to perform at the NYSSMA Winter Conference in Rochester, N.Y.
