Honors service to country and community

On Nov. 10, 2011, 27 veterans were inducted into the newly-formed 40th District Veterans’ Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was established by State Sen. Greg Ball to honor veterans for service to country and community. Ball has also created a Traveling Veterans’ Wall of Honor, which will travel to district schools and will be on exhibit at Haldane on Thursday, Feb. 16.

The display will be on view in the lobby of the middle school. At 2:25 p.m. on Thursday there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony. School Superintendent Mark Villanti has asked the school’s social studies teachers to spend some time with their classes to discuss this event and its significance.
