Mcguire and Twoguns advance to regional competition

The Knights of Columbus Loretto Council No. 536 sent 6 boys and girls to the District 54 Free Throw Competition, which was held on Feb. 18 at the Most Precious Blood School in Walden and two of them came home winners.

Moving on to the Regional Competition on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie will be Saoirse Mcguire, who shot 16 for 25 in the 11 year-old girls bracket while Brandon Twoguns shot 15 for 25 in the 11 year-old boys bracket. Each winner in the district competition was presented a medal by District Deputy John Pomarico.

The winners of the Regional competition will advance to the Downstate Regional Tournament on March 17 which will be held at St. Gregory the Great Church Gym, in Harrison .
