To aid hurricane-hit homeowners

Philipstown Supervisor Richard Shea announced Friday, Nov. 16 that Federal Emergency Management Agency representatives were establishing a temporary claims assistance office at the Philipstown Recreation Center in Garrison, effective as of Friday afternoon.

The office was to be open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day from Saturday, Nov. 17, through Tuesday, Nov. 20, and Wednesday, Nov. 21 as well, if need warrants it.

The FEMA representatives will meet with individuals affected by Hurricane Sandy, answer their questions, and help them fill out forms for obtaining disaster-relief assistance. The Recreation Center is located at 107 Glenclyffe Drive, Garrison, off of Route 9D.
