Valentine’s Day Portraits and Concert Help Humane Society

Photo sessions on Feb. 2 and 9, with concert on Feb. 8

The Putnam Humane Society offers the opportunity to take Valentine’s Day photographs of your pets on two Saturdays before Valentine’s Day. On Feb. 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., they will be at the Brewster Feed Barn on Route 22 in Brewster. On Feb. 9, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., they will be at the Mahopac Feed Barn on Route 6 in Mahopac. There is a $15 suggested donation, and no appointments are necessary.

2013-V-Day-PosterPOSTPONED: On Friday, Feb. 8, at 8 p.m. Arts on the Lake will present a Songwriters Circle event, My Furry Valentine. Four singer/songwriters, Rob Morsberger, Deni Bonet, Kati Mac and Steve Kirkman, will perform. There will be a silent auction during intermission to benefit the Putnam Humane Society. Tickets are $12 or $10 for members. Arts on the Lake is located at the Lake Carmel Arts Center, 640 Route 52 in Kent Lakes.

The Putnam Humane Society is a not-for-profit animal shelter located in Carmel, contracted by Carmel, Patterson, Philipstown and Southeast to provide shelter services for lost and stray dogs that are brought by dog control officers and the public from these towns under New York State Agriculture & Markets law. They are funded by the above contracts, Putnam County, membership dues and the donations and goodwill of the public at large.
