Accessibility Signage Legislation Passes

accessibilityAssemblywoman Sandy Galef and Sen. David Carlucci sponsored landmark legislation that passed both houses that will remove the word “handicap” from accessibility signs and replace the universal symbol of a person sitting stationary in a wheelchair to one of a person in a wheelchair in motion. New York is the first state in the nation to pass this legislation.
