Deadline for application is Apr. 15

The Putnam County Children’s Committee is accepting scholarship applications from graduating high school seniors. Applicants must be a resident of Putnam County, and financial need is a priority, although service to the community, strength of purpose in achieving an educational goal, ability and maturity are also considered.

Applicants who wish to be considered should send a letter stating their desire to continue their education, discussing their financial need and outlining their plans. Additional information such as the students transcript, Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) report, letters of recommendation and a letter from a guidance counselor are required.

The  Putnam County Children’s Committee scholarships this year total $8,000 and will be paid after the completion of the first semester. The amount of any individual scholarship will be no less than $500.

Students should contact their high school guidance counselor for more information. The application deadline is April 15, and scholarship recipients will be notified in May. All application material should be mailed to Putnam County Children’s Committee, Inc., Attn: Scholarship Committee,  P.O.
