Airport to host Wings of Freedom Tour

The Collings Foundation’s popular Wings of Freedom Tour returns to the Dutchess County Airport in Poughkeepsie for the third time on Friday, Sept. 9 through Sept. 11. It features rare treasures of aviation history, including the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress “Nine O Nine,” the Consolidated B-24 Liberator “Witchcraft,” the North American B-25 Mitchell “Tondelayo” and P-51C Mustang dual-control fighter.

Tour prices are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and younger. World War II veterans are admitted free. The event is open from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 9 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 10 and 11. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 11 to remember the victims of the 2001 attacks.
