Group will explain how to apply

Artists, art organizations and art educators can learn how to receive grant money from Arts Mid-Hudson at an information session at the Howland Public Library at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. Another session will take place at 3 p.m. on Oct. 20 at the Ann Street Gallery in Newburgh.

The funds, which originate with the New York Council on the Arts, can be used for exhibitions, workshops, performances, festivals, concerts, plays, temporary installations, screenings or readings, for the creation of new work by an artist, and to support skill-based workshops. More than $100,000 is available.

The deadline is Nov. 15. Visit artsmidhudson.org for details.
