Ceremony will include planting on High Street

The Cold Spring Village board and its Tree Advisory Board will host third annual Village Arbor Day ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, on the sidewalk in front of 15 High St., where a tree will be planted.

Adding some additional whimsy to the ceremonial planting and mulching (with materials donated by residents and the landscaping business Habitat Revival), there will be decorations installed throughout the village to mark the day. Adorning Main and side streets will be sidewalk chalk messages installed by the Tree Advisory Board with the help of local Cub Scout Pack 137 Wolves, streamers and quotations hung with the help of local Girl Scout Troop 2032, and poetry composed by members of Girl Scout Junior Troop 1405.

To donate funds to plant a tree, or to volunteer, call the Village Clerk at 845-265- 3611 or email [email protected].
