Drug Crisis in Our Backyard presentation on Oct. 12

The Garrison School will host a presentation by Drug Crisis in Our Backyard at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, at the school, followed by a panel discussion.

Drug Crisis in our Backyard is a grassroots organization whose mission is to bring awareness of the rampant use and dangers of drugs in our community, offer strategies for prevention, support families struggling with the effects of addiction and advocate for change through our legislature.

The presentation will address the question of what can be done to protect children from the drug / opioid epidemic. It will include Family Systems / Dynamics, Communication Styles, Age Appropriate Mental Health Traits / Characteristics / Risk Factors and Protective Factors.
