Elsie Basso

Elsie M. Basso, 94, who lived in Cold Spring for more than 50 years, died Oct. 28, 2017, at The Grand at River Valley in Poughkeepsie.

Born on July 15, 1923, in Hopewell Junction, she was the daughter of Eugene and Nellie (Van Voorhis) Stanton. She worked for many years for Beacon Looms before her retirement and attended Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring.

She married Frank E. Basso on Nov. 8, 1943 in Fishkill. He died in 1992.

Elsie is survived by a son, Frank Basso (Leslie) of Poughkeepsie; a granddaughter, Melyssa Burega (Richard); two grandsons, Frank Basso and Michael Basso; and two great-grandchildren, Samuel Burega and Jordan Burega.

Friends and family may call on Nov. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrott St., Cold Spring. A funeral service will be held on Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow in Cold Spring Cemetery.
