Police say he was driving while intoxicated

A Putnam Valley man has been charged with vehicular assault after police say he struck another vehicle in Cortlandt while he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

New York State Police troopers arrested Kevin Singleton, 32, on Oct. 26 following a crash at about 7 p.m. on Croton Avenue. He was charged with felony vehicular assault, reckless endangerment, three counts of misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

Police said Singleton was driving a Ford F150 pickup south on Croton when he entered the northbound lane and struck a Honda Civic. Three people in the car were injured, one seriously.

A test indicated Singleton’s blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit, police said. He was issued a ticket to appear in theĀ  the Town of Cortlandt Court on Nov. 1.
