Create and Preserve a Personal History

In a fittingly historic setting, preserving one’s own past in archival form will be the focus of a scrapbooking workshop to be held at Boscobel on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The goal will be to put together something which can be enjoyed by generations to come. Demonstrations will be made of the traditional book-style keepsake collecting, and of it’s contemporary, digital equivalent. Creative Memories representative Becky Meyer will give the presentation. There will be some supplies and tools available for use, and raffles for purchase.

The $20 fee includes the workshop, presentation, demonstrations, some scrapbooking tools for use, coffee & cookies, free admission to the gardens and grounds, as well free admission to Boscobel’s current art exhibition, Hudson River Contemporary: Works on Paper and a free copy of its 24-page, full-color catalogue.

This first-ever Scrapbook Event at Boscobel takes place in the Carriage House. Participants are advised to pack a light lunch, as the grounds will be open for picnicking. Be sure to bring your own scrapbooks and photos. As an option, materials may be ordered in advance by visiting Creative Memories.  The cost is $15 for Friends of Boscobel. Space is very limited and advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended by phoning 845-265-3638 x115. More information can be found at www.boscobel.org/
