K-3 students perform in Fall Concert (Photo courtesy of Garrison School)

On Thursday, Nov. 4, the Garrison School presented its K-3 Fall Festival Concert.  The audience was treated to a performance of songs about the fall.  Many students’ outfits were coordinated with the theme of their songs and the season’s colors.
Second graders performed a line dance to accompany one of their musical numbers and the third graders sang a song honoring veterans.  For the big finale, all K-3 students sang We Are Going to Be Friends while a PowerPoint presentation, prepared by seventh grader Lizzie Walker, displayed photos of the children participating in fall activities and events at the Garrison School.
Garrison music teacher, Karen Bresnan, planned and conducted the program and art teacher, Coulter Young and his students assisted with the set direction.  Parent and pianist Art Labriola and his daughter Sara, a seventh grader (on electric guitar), provided the musical accompaniment along with Garrison graduate Russell Cox who joined in on the drums.  The Garrison School Audio Visual Team, working under the direction of parent Kurt Heitmann and assisted by Facilities Director Dick Timmons, worked behind the scenes to be sure the young performers could all be seen and heard.
