Money goes directly to support educational programs

As Philipstown residents think of others over the holidays and assist charities, Holiday School Foundation officials have expressed their appreciation to supporters and reminded them of the possibilities of corporate matching and tax benefits.

“The Haldane School Foundation would like to thank the members of the local and school communities who have generously donated to the students of Haldane, both this holiday season and all year long,” said Haldane School Foundation Board President Dani Locastro. “The money we raise goes directly to support educational programs at Haldane.  Corporate matching is a great way for our benefactors to maximize their contribution to the schools.”

Donors can also reap tax benefits to from charitable giving, Terese Olsen, Haldane School Foundation treasurer, noted. “A gift to the Haldane School Foundation may entitle you to a charitable contribution deduction against your income tax if you itemize deductions.” Contributors to the Haldane School Foundation can contact Dani Locastro at [email protected] or 845-418-3259.  They can also send a check, payable to the Haldane School Foundation, to The Haldane School Foundation, P.O. Box 364, Cold Spring N.Y. 10516.

A community-based non-profit organization, registered with New York State as a 501(c)(3), the Haldane School Foundation raises funds to help enrich the curriculum and support staff development  in the Haldane Central School District.  Last year the Foundation donated nearly $55,000 for smart boards; school assemblies, including a special performance by the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival for high school students; field trips; the high school language immersion weekend; training for teachers, and the groundbreaking Eco Garden.
