Hope to show support for Muslims

Members of the Dutchess County Interfaith Council and local churches and synagogues will lead a solidarity walk to show support for followers of the Muslim faith at Walkway on the Hudson on Sunday, June 5. Walkers are asked to park on Washington Street or Parker Avenue and assemble at the east gate of the walkway at 5:30 p.m.

First Presbyterian, St. Joachim, St. Luke’s and Christ United Methodist churches in Beacon are members of the interfaith council.

The walk will be followed at 7:15 p.m. by a Community Vegetarian Potluck Iftar (the traditional meal-breaking fast during Ramadan, which begins June 6) at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 325 Mill St., Poughkeepsie.
