Rose Ann “Rosie” Fasano (1949-2016)
Rose Ann “Rosie” Fasano, 67, a lifelong resident of Beacon, died on Aug. 12, 2016, at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. She was born in Beacon on Feb. 10, 1949, to Michael and Margaret (Hupcey) Fasano.
Rosie retired from IBM in East Fishkill. She was a member of the St. Rocco’s Ladies Auxiliary, the Women’s Club of St. Joachim – St. John and a lifelong parishioner of St. Joachim Church.
She is survived by her sisters, Michele LaPointe of Queensbury; Grace Morea (Daniel) and Margaret (Peggy) Fasano of Beacon; an uncle and aunt, Stephen and Judie Hupcey of Arizona; and a number of nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Aug. 18 at St. Joachim Church. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or stjude.org.
Joseph Carmen Miccio (1929-2016)
Joseph Carmen Miccio, 86, died on Aug. 15, 2016, at The Pines at Poughkeepsie. He was born in Beacon on Nov. 23, 1929, the son of Dominick and Mary (Marinaccio) Miccio. In 1951 he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1957.
Joseph’s career began at Nabisco in Beacon, and he later worked for Local 137 Union of Operating Engineers, where he remained until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.
On May 28, 1955, he married Elaine Capasso in the Bronx. She died on Oct. 23, 2015. He is survived by sons Joseph Miccio (Laurie) of Newburgh, Steven Miccio of Beacon and John Miccio (Leslie) of Fishkill; daughter Jean Miccio (Patrick) of Fishkill; grandchildren Daniel, Emily, Christina, Amy, Isabella, Gabrielle, Stephen and Jasmine; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Aug. 18 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, with interment with military honors at Fishkill Rural Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, or alz.org.
