Office for the Aging sponsors workshops

Senior residents interested in learning about computers can register for a variety of classes being offered this fall by the Putnam Office for the Aging at two locations: the William Koehler Senior Center, Route 6, Mahopac, and the Putnam Valley Senior Center, 117 Town Park Lane, Putnam Valley. Registration for classes will be held Thursday, Sept. 1st  from 10 a.m. to  noon.

The fall schedule, running from September through December will include: basic computer for beginners, Word Pad and Internet/e-mail. Classes will also be offered on Picasa, Photoshop, advanced Word, Excel, genealogy, and using a digital camera.  One-day workshops will be held for: cut, copy and paste, Facebook and Twitter, computer maintenance (making sure privacy settings are up to date), keyboard shortcuts, Skype, mail merge, Naturally Speaking, genealogy, buying a new computer, and introduction to word processing.
