Cold Spring Fire Company academy July 15-20
The Cold Spring Fire Company announced it will hold its 11th Annual Junior Firefighter Academy this summer. The academy, which is open to fourth through eighth graders, will be held at the firehouse from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day starting on Monday, July 15, and ending with a graduation ceremony on Saturday morning, July 20.
During the week the children learn about the history of firefighting, fire prevention, firefighting tools and equipment, first aid, CPR and the importance of teamwork and physical fitness. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 15, via the Philipstown Recreation Center at 845-424-4618.
