Lady Blue Devils Stop Lakeland, 3-2

Haldane varsity girls’ soccer played Lakeland under the lights at Lakeland on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The score was tied at halftime 1-1. Haldane took the lead in the second half 2-1, only to relinquish it with six minutes to go. High school girls’ soccer played two 10-minute halves in overtime — there is no sudden-goal rule as in boys’ games. Halfway through the second overtime, the Lady Blue Devils scored a third goal and held on to win, 3-2.

Marina Martin scored the first and third goal, assisted by Bailey McCollum on both. The second goal was scored by Missy Lisikatos on a blast from a rebound outside the box. Sarah Labriola had a great game in goal, making 10 saves for Haldane.
